Abstract:

A colorimetric method for detection and assay of mustard gas in urine after addition of thymolphthalein is reported. The detection limit was 80 ng/ml of llrine. Mustard gas could also be detected in urine after extraction with gas chromatography using FID detector. The detection limit was 10 ng/ml. In addition, thiodiglycol, a metabolite of mustard gas, could be converted to mustard with concentrated HCl at 100°C and detected with gas chromatography.

hazard evaluation of gas condensate stabilization and dehydration unit of parsian gas refinery using hazop procedures

Comparison of gas chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods of determination for caffeine in coffees and teas.

Caffeine (CAF) levels in instant regular coffees, instant decaffeinated coffees, and instant teas are determined and compared using spectrophotometric and gas chromatographic methods of determination. Modification of a previously reported spectrophotometric assay for CAF in biological fluids is necessary to reduce interference from theophylline (THP) and theobromine (THB). Readjustment of the b...

Gas-chromatographic assay for heme oxygenase activity.

We have developed an improved assay for microsomal heme oxygenase activity, based on the enzymic release of CO from the alpha-methene bridge of hemin and the quantitation of CO by gas chromatography. The within-run coefficient of variation (CV) of heme oxygenase assays in microsomes from rat tissues (liver, kidney) averaged 8%; the between-run CV averaged 15%. The detection limit for heme oxyge...

investigation of single-user and multi-user detection methods in mc-cdma systems and comparison of their performances

Serum quinidine concentrations: comparison of fluorescence, gas-chromatographic, and gas-chromatographic/mass-spectrometric methods.

Serum quinidine concentrations were determined in patients on chronic therapeutic doses. Although results were higher by a protein precipitate-fluorescence method as compared to a specific extraction fluorescence method, there was substantial correlation between results by the two methods (r = 0.945, P less than 0.001). We established the specificity of the extraction method by a methylation ga...
